I had also joined Evolve several months ago when they have the old owner. Even though $35/month is sort of on the high range of my budget, and there's the other two places in town that are around $10 per month I could have joined. The location was the key factor for my original decision making. In addition, even though I only would go for a few times per month, I had always feel very much welcomed whenever I enter the premise. But I no longer feel the friendliness anymore from this new owner. First of all, she is rude. From the first time I met her to .... anytime I talk to her or simply being there when she is there. There's also a sort of morale degrade in the atmosphere. It is sort of hard to explain. As someone who have been in the customer service realm for quite some time, I can tell you what good customer service stands for (at least as close to a definition as everyone would agree.) To make this short, she is simply careless of her customers, with no desire to improve, nor does she have any great customer service skills. She also does not have any owner etiquette. You do not chit chat so loud with friends and at the same time giving judgmental eye contacts to the customers while they are working out. You should ask nicely with a concerned tone for the reason why someone is canceling their membership instead of simply stating policy and then rudely said "bye" and then hang off right away. If your attitude could be nicer to everyone, assuming you are also rude to your staffs and snobby all the time, my boyfriend and I would of stayed. And maybe, assuming lots of other people are canceling their membership as well, which could explain your grumpiness, more people would stay... With high rate, high competition, and rude attitude, how do you expect you would succeed? With new paint jobs and displays? Surely not.
