Cheri Durand started this rescue because she has a true love of animals. Her rescue not only saves dogs from the local shelter but also drives to Southern California to save dogs from shelters there. She uses her own money and depends totally on the kindness of others to help the dogs she saves. Currently she has a little terrier who was hit by a car and has a broken leg and pelvis and is filled with infection. He was at the local shelter for over a week with no treatment for his injuries other than antibiotics. Because of the mistreatment he is going to lose his leg. The infection is so bad they have to wait for 5 days before they can operate in order to get the infection under control. I have worked with Cheri since the beginning of her adventure into the world of rescue and know her dedication is strong and true.
