I visited Fez with a few girlfriends during my time in Phoenix this past March, and I was actually pleasantly surprised by both the food and the service. First of all, the bar itself is beautiful. One thing I really appreciated about the design is that the bar is actually a circle rather than just a long straight counter like most bars. This set-up was perfect for chatting with friends; we were still able to chat even if we weren't sitting right next to each other! The menu itself is pretty unique - this isn't just basic bar food. We shared a couple of different appetizers. Notable options are the Fez lettuce wraps and the Fez fries. The lettuce wraps were probably my favorite: the dried pears were a nice touch, and overall I felt they were both healthy and delicious! For the Fez fries, we got a combination basket of the cinnamon dusted sweet potato fries and the salt and pepper fries. Both were extremely tasty and addictive. I'm a fan! In addition, the bartenders were absolutely wonderful and they even gave me a complimentary chocolate brownie with ice cream for my birthday. It was probably one of the best brownies I've had in a long time. If I ever get a chance to venture back to Phoenix, you can bet I'll definitely be back to Fez!
