I was referred to Jenn by my cousin who is friends with Jenn and she also had gotten her hair done by her before. She said she did great work so I brought my mother in law to see her because my mother in law wanted to get some highlights. Our appointment was at 1pm (the time and day that Jenn chose) we got there really early and Jenn was working on a client, but I'm guessing also her friend because her "client" was there the whole time we were. She came out and told us sorry that she was finishing blow drying her client's hair. We were ok with that, when my mother in law finally got in the chair we told her she wanted some highlights and that we were new and referred by my cousin. As Jenn was doing the color we were making small talk.. She asked what plans we had and we made some small talk. We asked her what she was going later, she said she had one more client and then afterwards was going to go out for some drinks with friends.... which leads up to the fact that when she washed my mother in law's hair she sat her down in the chair at 2:30 and told her she didn't have time to finish styling...even though for highlights, cut, and style she was charging $120. We drove 40 minutes to come see her she even said this was going to take 2 hours to 2 1/2 hours when we first got there...Why did she choose that time frame then? My mother in law was upset but showed grace, I however told my mother in law that if she wasn't going to finish the job then not to have her charge the 120. (This was told in Spanish) Jenn was rushing and I'm assuming because her "client" maybe another friend was getting her hair done at 3pm we heard the receptionist tell Jenn this, and if she was sitting my mother in law in her chair at 2:30 she did have time she just didn't want to. I was mad at the fact she had us waiting to finish styling her friend's hair but when we are new clients she couldn't bother finishing her job. She barely did anything on my mother in law's hair the color didn't even look like highlights. She told my mother in law that her total would be $115 as she did not style her hair. Really? Just $5 we thought that was so insulting, and my mother in law was still kind enough to tip her $20 for the unprofessional job she did. We are never coming back here, and I hope Jenn can learn to take care of new clients the same way she takes care of her friends.
