I was quoted $21K to finish my 500sq ft attic. Electrical is already installed up there. So basically, I needed the room framed, insulated, and drywalled. I paid $54K for the home and I wasn't going to pay almost half that to finish the attic. I just put a roof on the home in July with a 50 year warranty for less than $9k! So the attic has all it's proper ventilation and ready to be closed up. But $21K!! They've lost their minds!! The consultation: We had a consultation on Wednesday, Aug 30th and was told that we should have a quote completed before the following Monday. Well, Monday was a holiday so we figured the quote would be sent the following day. My husband called several times between Sept 5th -8th and never received a call back but left plenty of messages. Well, today is Sept 11th and was finally emailed the quote. Since our initial Aug 30th consultation, we've had other bids on the work and found a reputable contractor that will do the work for a fraction of their cost. I feel that it took them so long to get back with us because they had to scrape the ends of the earth to find a reason to charge so much for the job. I would never recommend them A. Because of response time B. Because of pricing.
