We used Umbrella Movers to move 20K lbs from NW Las Vegas to Henderson. They dropped one of my pricey Ekornes matching chairs in front of me from about 4 foot up onto concrete and acknowledged that it could have been damaged.
I didn't think it was hurt but now that I have it in my home, it in fact is cracked and makes a cracking noise every time you set in or turn in it. I am not a furniture mover but clearly they should have marked it down as having been dropped. Now that I've discovered the problem and tried to contact the company, after several attempts to remedy the situation by calling the owner/manager they have not returned my phone calls. I am not satisfied. They could have at least offered to have one of their furniture repair experts take a look at it.
They presented the release document at the end of the move like it had to be signed - I should have not signed it. DO NOT SIGN ANY RELEASE WITH THIS COMPANY UNTIL YOU ARE SURE ALL OF YOUR STUFF WAS MOVED SAFELY AND NOT DAMAGED.
i am considering all of my options now but because they dropped it they should have included this fact on their documentation and didn't.
I will say the actual movers were great to work with and very conscientious - this was a simple mistake on their part that their management should have handled honestly but they didn't.
