I have to agree with Eric J's review. After two visits, over the last two years, I have been given three referrals by Dr Barrus and I'm young with healthy eyes (according to a subsequent optometrist I went to). I found Dr Barrus spent A LOT of time going on and on and on about what a great optometrist he is and how other doctors have commented that he is able to detect conditions more frequently than any other optometrist they know. And so on and so on. Dr Barrus referred me to a chiropractor because after he asked whether or not I get headaches and I responded, "yes, occasionally" he determined that I had an unusual head alignment which needed treatment. The chiropractor he referred me to then proceeded to call me several times after I didn't return his call. I decided my occasional headache was less annoying then the aggressive chiropractor that I had been referred to. I found the staff completely unhelpful as well. Dr Barrus determined I needed glasses for the first time ever (he said that I needed glasses to legally drive, which was subsequently disputed by another optometrist). When he lead me out to the front to look at glasses, the sales agent asked "where would you like to start?" Having never worn glasses before I found this to be completely unhelpful and went somewhere else where they actually provided some guidance. I would be suspicious of any referral given by Dr Barrus and for those of you who don't know, Doctors make money from referrals
