We almost avoided Paulette's after reading some of the reviews. I am glad we didn't, but I'm not sure that we visited the same place as some of these yahoos. Other reviewers found the chicken bland, but ours was perfectly fried in a low-batter, Korean style that carries the flavored salts and sauces really well. It was not KFC, and that's alright with me. The cake in the donuts was perfectly moist, and the flavors were great (maple walnut and blueberry balsamic). "They were really sweet" is not a criticism to level at a donut. Maybe the negative reviewers experienced consistency issues that our first-time visit didn't uncover. But the food was good enough that I'll be back.
