Rediscovering my love for Indian food, I had decided to try this place out after discovering how close it was to home.
This establishment is located in the same lot as Cafe Zupas, BJ's, and Brew Tea Bar. Walking in the spacious interior, I was a little concerned about how empty the restaurant was. However, I decided to stay and give the place a try after taking its many positive reviews into consideration.
There are many dishes to choose from and the menu is very expansive. I chose the chicken tikka masala ($16). If you do not want chicken, they also have vegetarian and goat versions available. The flavorful dish comes with a side of basmati rice. I had ordered a level 6, which usually suffices my sort-of-there spicy tolerance, but it was not as spicy as I had hoped. Though it is a little pricier than I expected, the portion was pretty big and I could have easily shared with someone else had I known before hand.
The garlic naan ($7) that I had ordered on the side was very delicious and paired perfectly with the rest of our dishes. It came out warm and pillowy. I could have eaten the garlic naan for my entire meal if I really wanted to (but then again -- it's bread. And who doesn't love bread)!
Mango lassi ($7) was very refreshing (and much needed after deciding to try my boyfriend's maximum spicy curry). It tasted very fresh and creamy. I think I drank it a little too fast!
Service, though pleasant, was a big lacking. They were there when necessary, but if you needed something you have to wave someone down to come to you.
The food will definitely have me coming back. I'm very excited to try more dishes and maybe check out the lunch buffet they offer. So happy this is close to home, but my wallet isn't as excited!
