Open Wide is a great dental office, I highly recommend them and my hygienist Elise in particular is very gentle and takes great care with me. I won't go anywhere else because they treat me well and communicate with me, and the facility is clean and beautiful. I just got my teeth cleaned today and my mouth is happy!
Listen...people hate the dentist. People hate paying co-pays or for dental work in general I mean who does....BUT I have been coming here for almost 10 years and I HAVE NEVER EVER had any of the experiences like some of the reviews left here on Yelp recently. I've never felt gouged or that recommended work was not necessary.
As a patient it's YOUR responsibility to make sure you have insurance and that the doctor you are visiting accepts it and the work you need done is covered and to what extent. This is just common sense. It's a simple phone call, Open Wide will do it for you if you ask and they usually already done it if you need a procedure.
There are 1000's of insurance plans and no doctor can know them all and what they cover... that's on YOU. That said I know Open Wide always checks and asks regularly about my coverage and has informed me before performing a procedure if there are any issues. If in doubt ASK though, BEFORE not after. Be a good patient and you'll get a lot further with your health care in general.
Sure I've got good teeth, I get my teeth cleaned regularly, schedule in advance and even though I don't enjoy going to the dentist or paying for dentistry when I need it I LOVE HAVING TEETH and good breath so I do it.
