I really wanted to like this place, but the poor service, long delay of our food, and overall neglect of my table made for a disappointing experience.
I think the secret door is a cool idea in theory and I love the entire Italian mob theme of this restaurant but I think asking if people have reservations and then making it seem like an inconvenience to seat you if you don't isn't smart business. We showed up before 4 pm and the host staff innocently argued in front of us about being unsure if they could seat us in the restaurant that had one table with people sitting at it.
My partners beer showed up ten minutes after we ordered it and we waited a solid thirty minutes for my eggplant parmigiana and his sausage and peppers. My dish was good, and a very large portion which I was happy to see for the hefty $21 price, but the sausage and peppers were overly salty for my taste.
We didn't see our server too much, she was busy tending to a larger party that was seated after us. Our water lacked refills, we weren't checked on after our dinner was dropped off, and when we asked for a dessert menu she dropped off a closed book but when we opened it there was no menu inside. She didn't come back for 10 minutes so we decided to not even order anything because it would have taken even longer.
I would like to come back for the live music, but it will probably be later then sooner.
