I'm surprised this hotel doesn't have better reviews - I've stayed here both times I've visited Montreal and I've had a great experience twice. From the outside, yes it looks a little bit sketchy. But it's walking distance from malls, restaurants, and subway stations. There's even a police station right across the street, which makes me feel safer.
Beginning from the service at front desk, employees are very polite and accommodating. They immediately offered me tea/coffee and let me request a late check-out. The rooms look newly renovated and very clean. This is a relatively quiet hotel (I know because I got a noise complaint one night), so it's great for couples and families, but not large groups. Wifi is free, but not very fast or strong. Breakfast is not included.
I paid around $70/night and I will definitely be staying here again next time I'm in Montreal!
