I found this resort at a great price through Travelocity and booked it in conjunction with my rental car for an even better deal! Here are the highlights of this property:
1) Former condos so each room is actually the size of an apartment including full size washer/dryer, walk-in closet, kitchen, and living room.
2) I have to give the bathrooms their own point. The tubs are huge. This is the first "hotel" shower where I have not fought with the shower curtain the entire time. The toilet is also in a separate room. *Bonus* in my book!
3) 2 separate pool areas with hot tubs, one for adults only! (Yay!) This is also enforced by security, as we witnessed during our stay there, when children were in the adult only pool for a couple of minutes. There are nice grills out by the pool for public use.
4) Location is great! West of the strip, near the Orleans you can be anywhere on the strip within 10 minutes. They do also have a shuttle if you prefer not to drive.
5) The property is also secured after 6 pm by gates. You have to have your key to get in the gates. I think this is a great security measure. I also saw other security on property in the parking lot during our stay.
Yes, they give you their pitch as part of the Diamond Resort International Group. However, it was nothing more than about 3 minutes after checkin. It may be something you are interested in. If not, no big deal. We will definitely be staying here again when we are in Vegas. I love not having to deal with the crowds of the casino and I love being able to park closer to my room than the giant hotels on the strip. The traffic on the strip is so congested and crazy! My other tip is to request a 1st floor if you have a problem with stairs or if you have large suitcases. They do not do a daily maid service here, but we did not find that to be a problem at all. The property is well maintained and very clean. We found everyone to be friendly. We requested a late checkout on our final day and they gladly accommodated us.
