Is it the fanciest place to live, no. Is the rent reasonable and much better than most of the places around it, definitely.
I've lived here for 6 months, and my roommates for a year, and we're still planning on staying for a while longer. The amenities are great; 3 pools, a small private gym, indoor hand ball courts (which we've only been able to find at one other complex so far), tennis and basketball courts. There are some quarks to it, like the fact that the hot tub bubbles don't work currently and you can't use the pool bathrooms.
The appliances aren't incredible but they work and we have little issue with them. There are in unit w/d units that aren't the largest and can easily become off balanced but considering the alternative we don't mind the noise. Unfortunately, when they put those units in they had to move the fridge and in the split floor plan 2 brms the fridge blocks the door from opening 2/3rds of the way so we usually have to use the sliding glass door in the master bedroom. The cabinets are in no way falling apart, in fact they were renovated sometime ago and still in good condition. We just wish that there was more space in the kitchen for both movement and storage.
There is plenty of storage with 2 closets on our balcony. We enjoy being surrounded by large trees to we can sit on our 3rd floor apartment and still be completely shaded. Currently there is still a cat problem, but not for much longer with the new management, but we don't mind because there is a sweet little one who adopted our part of the building.
We went through a management change back in June and Mark-Taylor took over the complex. We are still in the transitional period waiting to see what they will do to bring the complex up to their standards but that takes a bit of time. They have made some policy changes that we don't entirely agree with, like changing the pool hours and not allowing us to feed the cats while they plan to take them to shelters, but in all they are doing pretty well. we had several repairs in our apartment and during the transition it was hard to get any assistance but now it's usually taken care of in a few days.
so it's not the greatest place that we could have chosen but when you weigh the positives against the negatives we chose to stay. We could have ended up in much worse but we couldn't have done much better for our current rent.
