When I saw this Yelp elite event at Happy Lemon, I was delighted. A number of folks who love tea and lemons as much as I do were raving to me about how delicious the drinks are here. I took the plunge, signed up, and was happy that I got into this event! I like that this event spans roughly two weeks. You go when it's convenient for you and experience how awesome everything is at Happy Lemon. I went after work on Friday. The place is located in a large plaza near Vaughan Mills. Once you have survived the traffic backlog to the mall, there is plenty of parking in the plaza. I started taking pics immediately. The cute Happy Lemon mascot girl greets you at the door. The inside is clean, fun, and inviting. I waited for a minute before I was served by a nice gentleman. You need to provide photo ID with your name for this event. I whipped out my work badge. The funny thing is that I got my badge photo taken a month ago. I was wearing the same shirt in the pic! I went all out and got a green tea with salted cheese. I had wanted this drink for a long time. I was curious about the salted cheese. I ran this tea profile by a couple of colleagues. My student intern said, "Ew!". My other colleague said, "Salty in a drink works." I decided to also get tapioca in my beverage. I was advised that it was $0.50 more. Sure, I'm game to splurge! After looking at the drink sizes available, I got a large. Moments later, my drink was ready. I headed to my car and continued driving home. As someone who loves tea and drinks it practically daily, the steeped tea at Happy Lemon is perfect. The lemon is nice. I absolutely love lemons. Don't knock the salted cheese in the drink. It works well. It's not overly salty, but gives a surprisingly good change to your taste buds. They will thank you! One thing that I noticed was that I wasn't hungry for dinner as I continued to polish off this drink. The cheese gives you some protein. I got a ton of tapioca that I kept vacuuming into my mouth as I headed home. I can't wait to come back and try the other drink flavours. There was also Happy Lemon merchandise, such as cell phone stands with cute characters. I may need to get something next time. Thanks to everyone who made this event happen. I had a great experience!
