In general, I've always liked bagels as much as the next girl - I viewed them as circular pieces of mildly flavoured, chewy bread... until last year.
When visiting Montreal in 2015, I tried Fairmount Bagels for the first time. The freshness, quality, texture, and flavour of their sesame bagels is so amazing that I returned to this establishment daily for the remaining 4 days of my 2015 Montreal trip. During my 2016 trip to Montreal, I insisted on a visit to Fairmount Bagels (obvi!) and (unsurprisingly) no one argued.
Here are the dets: The sesame bagels are their best menu item (in my opinion). Even individuals who don't care for sesame bagels were impressed. The bagels are soft and tender, baked to perfection, with sesame seeds on both sides of the bagel.
Although their sesame bagels are heavenly, we've tasted their other bagels (eg everything bagel, etc) on other occasions and found them to be us but unimpressive. However, the amazing quality of their sesame bagel sustains their 5-star rating.
The customer service is always good - staff members are efficient and courteous. Also, the staff speak both English and French.
Recommendations:
-Get a fresh sesame bagel (with or without toppings, such as cream cheese - I think they're delicious enough to stand alone)
