Best ramen in the great city of Toronto. The whole experience at Sansotei is lovely and well done, and the service is genuine. Every bowl of ramen that I've been lucky enough to have has been perfect. The noodles are chewy and the broth rolls across your tongue and reminds you that if the ice age suddenly hit, you would be ready for it. What is important with a ramen broth is that the fat in the broth is enough to sit slightly on your tongue and sponge a tad in that moment, and in the combination of the salts and umami you gain the appreciation that ramen deserves. I used to give the 'best' title to Kinton until I found myself standing in line (me! standing in a line) in -25 degree weather for a single seat in this tiny establishment. When I came out after having my bowl of Black (garlic oil) Tonkatsu, I ran into a friend who was waiting her turn. That was the moment I knew I was in love. SJ
