Had a bit of a frustrating start with the Village Cobbler, but everything turned out well in the end. The day before leaving the country the strap on my most adult-looking shoulder bag broke, so based on others' Yelp reviews I decided to head down to Bloor West Village to see what could be done. I arrived about 45 minutes afer it should have opened (10, I think?) but the door was locked and no one answered the phone when I called.
I stalked off in annoyance to do some other errands, but thankfully I had the good idea to call back before I left the area because not only was it open, but the cobbler told me he'd have my bag ready in an hour. That was pretty great considering at no point did I tell him I needed it ASAP, and it only cost me $10. And, he didn't give me any crap about it being vegan 'leather,' which was much appreciated. I'll definitely return when necessary.
