I'm a white knuckled wimp at the dentist and in my nearly 40 years of getting scraped, cleaned and told to floss more, I've never had an easier or more comfortable dentist experience. They're quick, they work with your schedule, they don't make you feel like you dropped an orphaned puppy into oncoming traffic for not flossing enough and they all do a phenomenal job.
Mind you, I will never like going to the dentist, but I really like that I've found the best dentist in the area to make my experience as good as it can be.
