Tonight (4/8/17) was the first of what I'm sure will be many visits to Pomelo.
We arrived on time for our 6:30 reservation. Even though they were quite busy, we were seated almost immediately.
The ambiance is fresh (upscale but casual) and their courtyard is open and inviting. Our server was killer! She had a great personality and was on her A-game the entire time.
Dinner was excellent. My brother's "birthday burger" was MASSIVE, my dad said his scallops were the best he's ever had and my Pesto Garden Pizza (add chicken and bacon) was perfection.
The only negative experience (during an otherwise 5 star evening) was in the attached ice cream shop (Splurge). I had noticed the server being abrupt with the customers ahead of us, so I wasn't too surprised to be rushed out the door as well. Strange because there was only one person behind us, yet it felt as if the line was out the door and it was closing time (which it wasn't). I asked if there was a flavor she could recommend that was popular and her response was "Um...I dun-know." Then, my dad asked to sample the salted caramel. She kinda seemed put out and actually sighed when getting a spoon!! Yay. Anyhow, we all have bad days and maybe that was hers. Hoping that was just a one-off.
Overall, it was a GREAT evening for our entire family at Pomelo. Highly recommended.
