I went around 1:30 near the end of the Lunch Rush. I was greeted with a smile and immediately seated. I admit I was a bit rude as I was on my cell phone. However, the waitress handled it nicely and checked on me until I was ready. She made recommendations & answered any questions that I had. I ordered the Small plate of Chicken BBQ with Mac & Cheese. It came with Hush Puppies & Pickled Onions. I also ordered a side of Texas Toast. The chicken was really good. It was Tender & Flavorful without too much sauce. The Mac & Cheese was also surprisingly good for a restaurant. It was creamy and the top was layered with real cheese and they used seasoning/salt lol. A lot of restaurant Mac & Cheese is bland so I appreciate that. Hush Puppies were good, your average hush puppy. I also enjoyed the pickled onions. I can't really explain them but they were good. I ended up mixing them into my chicken. The Texas Toast was OK. I ordered it thinking I would need something to put my chicken on but I could have went without. It was buttered and toasted to a crisp (Not hard). I prefer my Texas toast to be a bit more soft. But it still wasn't bad. Decor wise it was ok. I'm not one to really notice the decor unless something about it bothers me. The only complaint I have is the booths are high with no foot rest. I felt like all the blood in my legs was rushing to my feet and got uncomfortable so I boxed most of my food to eat later. They do have a few tables but not many. I will be giving this place another try. I'd like to try the ribs, they looked delicious!
