My two stops here have been weather-related--once to wait out the rain, and once to get some relief from the heat. The end result is that ice cream is the perfect tonic to just about anything. This place isn't cheap--we ended up paying $7 for a waffle cone with two scoops and 2 mixins. That's pretty pricy in my book, but it's quality ice cream and the turbo mixing device they use incorporates the mixins well enough that it's like you're making your own flavor.
As others have noted, service here isn't stellar. We have never been acknowledged upon walk-in or even while standing at the counter until we open our mouths to order. But if you're craving Dave & Andy's and you're stuck in Shadyside, this is a great pit stop.
