I stopped in on May 21 to buy some roses for my fiancé. I picked out a beautiful dozen red roses. I asked the clerk for a vase, baby's breath and some greens. I asked her to simply put the flowers along with the greens in the vase. She told me she couldn't help. I thought she misunderstood my request so I repeated it. She refused. I was stunned by her response. When I asked why she told me she was not a "designer". That's good - I wasn't requesting a design just something any monkey could do.
She said the designer leaves at 4:00 and that she couldn't help. So I asked why are you open if you can't help customers? I bought the damn flowers only because there was no other option on the way home. I asked for her scissors and arranged the roses just like a monkey. She surely could have done that much!
It's a shame there are employers out there who treat their employees like little infants to the point they can't think for themselves and help customers with the simplest requests.
The whole experience left such a bad feeling I opened a Yelp account just to leave a review. Needless to say I won't be going back and won't be surprised when they go out of business.
