Pros: good location to U of I, beautiful rooms, solid security, satisfying food service So why only 3 stars? If we had known the room we were given was directly across the street from the bars and loud street noises we would have asked for a quieter room not located on the Neil Street side. Adding to the noise was hearing other patrons walking and talking in the halls as though the door was open. Poorly designed for noise volume. Maybe that is why earplugs are on the nightstand next to the bed? I am a light sleeper so I take responsibility for forgetting to ask for a quiet room when checking in. But I was expecting something other than the scripted apology received from the front desk when mentioning the noise levels. Wouldn't it be great when reserving a room if there was more transparency about which rooms are not as "nice" and having a percentage taken off for the inconvenience? But my fault for having an expectation versus reality.
