An out-of-town friend was in for a brief visit, and I intended to take her to breakfast at the Micro Diner on Mr. Washington before seeing the city from that vantage point.
For whatever reason I could not think of an easy way to get to Mt. Washington from my home. I ended up on Main Street in the West End where we stumbled upon Tartine. How fortuitous! What a sweet find!
Beautifully painted with oversized black and white prints of the Eiffel Tower and cafe music in the background, this adorable French Bistro has a lovely ambiance. The food is delicious! My friend had the ham and Gruyere Tartine with spring mix salad. I had the eggs florentine with lyonnaise potatoes. Tre magnifique!! (Sorry. Had to.)
For once, being a space cadet paid off. Otherwise we would never have discovered such a lovely find. I will definitely be back!
