Tried to purchase an item that is not shelved (high dollar item). Brought purchase card to cashier - she had no idea what to do - she just kept repeating over and over again that they had it in stock - I had to spell it out to her that the item isn't shelved because of it's value and the purchase card is what I'm supposed to bring to the cashier when checking out.
She calls the station manager (manager of that station in the store) - clueless also - he wandered the store for 15 minutes before deciding to come back to the cashier to proclaim that the item isn't on the shelf.
At this point I had to interject and explained to the employees of Home Depot that this is likely kept in a safe place within the store - you know, a place where high dollar items are stored - both of them started arguing with each other on whose responsibility it is to help the customer find the item.
Finally I told them thanks but no thanks I'll go somewhere else for the item I wanted to purchase.
