I wish I had read the other mixed reviews here before I wasted my time seeking an estimate on a courtyard door from Olson Iron Works.
I am extremely disappointed with the service level of their company. After struggling 3 days to get a sales rep to visit my home, the receptionist, Eunice, asked me to submit an email request with pictures first then they would determine if my request for a proposal warranted a sales call. Really?
I submitted my request and included several pictures. I did not hear anything from them for 3 days and called Eunice back. She stated there was an issue receiving the email from me. Several attempts again to send the email finally resulted in receipt of my request for proposal. After which she finally scheduled a sale visit with "Chad."
Chad showed up nearly 1 hour after the time we scheduled. He did call 5 minutes before the appointment to say he was running about 15 minutes late. Nearly 45 minutes later, he arrived.
Once on site, we discussed the project I was looking for including an option to repair and for a new wrought iron door. Chad later told me he was informed by the office that he should "push" the sale of a new door over trying to repair a current door. Appears the decision was already made by Olson Iron as to which direction this project was going.
After waiting for some time to receive a proposal while he was at my home, Chad informed me he would just email one later in the day.
That was on Wednesday (9/30). On Monday (10/5), I contacted the office and left an email with Eunice asking what the status of the proposal was. She said it should have been given on the spot but she would check to see the status. I did not hear anything that day following the email.
Today I called the office to again ask Eunice what the status was of the proposals. She placed me on hold for 7 minutes and Chad finally answered. He informed me that he had been very busy with other projects and could call me back in about 5 minutes to get the proposals to me. I informed him that red flags are all over this project from the start nearly 2 weeks ago and I no longer want to do business with a company that feels that other business is more important.
It appears that Olson Iron is so busy that they do not need future business. After all this anguish, I decided that my business is not important to them and received better service from one of their competitors in the Las Vegas area.
I hope Olson Iron Works will evaluate what happened with me and use it as a way to improve their customer service. Sadly, it appears others also had similar experiences.
