Victoria has been doing my children's yearly photos since 2010. My oldest daughter has autism and "traditional" photo sessions (sitting still, confronted with bright lights and flashbulbs, the demand to remain frozen while smiling) are 1. impossible and 2. disheartening, because she ends up looking terrified and forced--not what you want to capture in a child. The beauty of Victoria's method is that she gives kids the freedom to explore a fun, creative space (we have used the Cultural Gardens on MLK, the City Greenhouse, the Historic Schoolhouse in Cleveland Heights) while capturing the important aspects of each child's personality. We have also set up backdrops in my house--again, in a known, comfortable space for my daughter's well-being--and used dance music to set a good "fashion show" vibe. If you have a child with developmental needs who cannot manage to participate fully in a family photo session, Victoria has the compassion, patience and personality to really make that child feel included at whatever level he or she can participate and really turn out some thoughtful, beautiful photos.
