This was a fun, unique, and wonderfully executed experience of interest to the whole family. The staff there are super friendly and helpful, and will assist you in planning a good time. We celebrated a birthday party here, and they did so much to make it a memorable and enjoyable event for us! They booked a room for us to enjoy a meal and cake and even went so far as to decorate the room and put up a birthday banner that we had previously given them, and turn out the lights and light candles on the cake. They added, at their own expense, gold balloons that made for a festive environment. They also put a tablecloth on the table which added to the festive atmosphere. This room also has a video screen, pulsating lights, and barrels that operate as high-top tables, with Jenga games on top. If you want, you can make this room more like a rage party with flashing lights and near-complete darkness and loud music. Or, you can do what we did, which was turn the lights way up, turn the music way down, and sat and noshed and chewed the fat. If you book it near another group, you may have to share the room (and compromise on preferences), but we were lucky to have it to ourselves. Also, the staff was super accommodating since we were running a bit late. We ate, then smashed, then had cake.
The smashing part was, well...smashing! They accommodated our request for music and for a themed poker room with computers. They even were kind enough to include a plate that said, "Happy Birthday" for us to smash. We did the weapons upgrade, on the advice of fellow Yelpers, and I agree, that is worth doing. You can select the music to break things to. We chose "90's Old School Hip-Hop." You can have people watch you smash through the window. We lasted less than the 25 minutes we planned for. It is incredibly a workout to break things! The jumpsuits they give you also may make you sweat, but they are so "cool." Be sure to wear closed-toe shoes. You will take a picture in your get-up with your group, along with your Forestry Service-grade helmets with visor, ear muffs, clear hard plastic glasses, and gloves. Your pictures will be emailed to you or on the website by the end of the night. (Candidly, this they can work on a little bit. But they are still only several weeks old. They will get this part down). You will sign a simple waiver and learn the safety instructions. Basically, how to handle the weapons, and "don't hit each other." :) Our cost came to around $245 with 5 people smashing, with upgrades, etc. We also gave a sizable tip since they were so awesome.
A fun time was had by all. Not the least of which due to the extreme professionalism and kindness of the staff.
