I've not stayed in the hotel, but have been to the bar and restaurant a few times. During the Whitby Gothic Weekend, they host live music and DJs in the bar area, and some market stalls as well.
The food is decent, but, during the afternoon and evenings, it can be an extremely long wait due to never having enough staff in the kitchen. It's not unusual to be told a 2 hour wait to ORDER your food. Shame, since it's good value and decent food.
