I have Been to Cityview on 3 occasions for cleaning and had no issues with the Hygienists, the 3 different girls I had all did a great job. On my last visit just a couple days ago I was told I was having a complete exam which was fine by me as I have 100% coverage with my benefits through work. During the exam Dr. Liu proceeded to poke me in the gums above my 2 front teeth which was very painful, her response to the pain was that I had plaque under my gums due to my 2 Crowns not fitting properly and that I should have them replaced. I found this odd as I have never had an issue with my crowns in the past, and the only time I experienced pain was when she was poking me with her instrument. Clearly this was an attempt to try and up sell me on new crowns that do not need to be replaced so she could bill my insurance company for more work done. Upon leaving my appointment I was told I owed $236 for work that had been done and that was not covered by my insurance company, I found this odd as I have 100% coverage and have never in 17 years paid one penny at my last dentist. Clearly they are doing work thats not necessary without checking with the insurance company or myself before proceeding. After some choice words with Dr. Liu she waved the charges for the cost of work not covered but I still found the whole experience with her very unprofessional, and quite frankly a little dodgy. I personally would never go back to this clinic which is a shame as its right under my condo, and I would never recommend any treatment what so ever by Dr. Liu. If you're just looking to have have your teeth cleaned its fine but do your homework with your insurance coverage before making an appointment, because the girls at the front desk will not tell you what work is going to be done and what is covered.
