I want to begin by saying that I am a real wine snob and foodie and love good food and eat out a lot......La Tavola was referred to me by a friend who has gone their with large groups which they have accommodated. My girlfriend and I went last evening and I love Italian and really wanted to like this place a lot to add it to a list of good Italian restaurants. Unfortunately it came up very short. It was a Tuesday evening and rather empty and we sat at a table in a large non descript room. Truly no ambiance. We had brought a bottle of Decoy Cabernet (five dollar corkage fee....BYOB) The waitress was nice enough but did not explain the specials as we overheard them shared by another waiter at another table and we were like, Hmm...we didn't even know these were offered. She uncorked our wine, poured us some water and brought us some garlic bread which was honestly the best dish of the evening. We had the calamari which had been described as "the best ever". It was not. It was okay. My girlfriend had the Pasta Carmella house special and I the Veal Piccatta. The Pasta Carmella was so over seasoned with red pepper and banana peppers as to be almost uneatable. You could literally taste nothing as your mouth was on fire the entire time. As we shared it we kept picking out the banana peppers in a vain attempt to cool it down. I had the veal which was okay but over lemoned. You should not be able to taste the lemon to the degree that I was able. All in all just okay. No need to rush back......Easy parking, Fair, not cheap prices.
