I love Birkenstock and was delighted to find a store that does re-soling of my favorite ones that got cracks in them. So I had 2 pair redone for about $80 a piece ( almost the cost of a brand new pair of shoes) and they looked brand new but I could not wear them as they were giving me pain in the arch. I took them and another new pair to my podiatrist who said that you could see the resoled shoes arches were much higher when he compared them, thus the pain I was getting. I wanted to confirm this with a professional as I have never had to break in a pair of Birkenstocks before and to assure that it wasn't me with the problem. The doctor said they needed to be taken apart and the arch shaved down. But when I took the shoes back to the store they said there was nothing they could do so I am out of not only $160 but 2 favorite style shoes that Birkenstock doesn't carry anymore. I am very disappointed in this and won't be buying anything more there.
