I went in on Saturday (9/17) to get a gel manicure and regular pedicure. The salon was really pretty and very clean. I sat down and the nail tech started out by applying something to my nails and wrapping with cotton and foils. They then placed clips on my fingers to secure the foils. Okay, that is what normally happens when I have gels removed. I was taken to a massage chair to get my pedicure started. The pedicure was nice. The massage was nice. The only problem was that I had to sit in the chair the entire time with my fingernails wrapped in foils and clips. After a while my nails started to burn. Are they supposed to leave whatever it is (acetone?) on that long? When the pedicure was over, I was taken back to get my gel polish done. This is when the appointment went downhill. The tech starts applying gel polish to my nails in very thin layers. It resulted in a very bumpy looking surface. If I hold my nails up to the light, they are transparent. I didn't count, but it seemed as if only 2 layers of gel color was applied. The polish was bumpy, thin and the polish near the edges of my nails looked terrible. I was then told that someone else was going to finish my manicure. My nail tech went to work on someone else. Umm.. okay. It is really annoying to be passed around like that. Another woman sat down... She applied lotion to my hands and then told me I was done. No massage. The lady that lotioned me up was not working on anyone, just standing around, talking loudly in her native tongue and distracting the employees. I have posted a picture of my gel polish. It really was the worst gel polish/ manicure I have ever had. After seeing the other pictures, I was expecting something better. I really wanted to like this place. My search for a good manicure continues...
