The third stop on our Danforth Bridal Madness tour, Becker's Bridal Fashions has a few differences from its eastward sister store. First, it's divided into two parts: one side has samples to be tried on and ordered, like the Dress Room, and the other side has off-the-rack options (possibly retired samples?). If you hit it lucky, you can find your dream dress for under $300, or at least under $500. Since it was a Saturday morning and they were busy, an assistant guided us over to the latter section. We were left alone to root through the racks and see what we could find. We didn't have much luck with the styles. That's not a reflection on Becker's, we just didn't happen to hit the jackpot that day! We did find something that fitted my friend like a glove and looked fabulous on her, but it was a little too Tsaritsa-at-the-grand-ball for my friend's downtown bistro wedding. The assistant dropped back in and gushed over it. I loved it too, but it was pretty shopworn, and the grime and pilled lace might not have been fixable. The selection of jewellery is small, but funky and interesting. A whole wall of thank-you letters from brides testifies to their many satisfied customers.
