Uppercut is my go-to place for steaks in Toronto. They have great prices, friendly staff, and most of all- great steaks. Whether you like a bacon-wrapped filet or a New York Strip, Uppercut is a great place for fine meats.
While St. Lawrence Market can be a clever mix of tourist traps, pricey produce that is the same as at No Friils, and other such shenanigans, Uppercut manages to be about selling great cuts of meat to locals over and over again.
Also, for a business where friendly service should not necessarily be top of mind, I am always surprised how nice they are here. Even though they may be very busy, I always feel like I am treated fairly, kindly, and respectfully at Uppercut Meats. Most of all, my most recent NY Strip was simply amazing.
