Long Rating: Normally you take the eye 'puff' test. Well, they also administer a test that they say helps to measure your health. I was not told of the extra charge of this, so either it is their policy to perform it as a requirement, they purposefully do it in a sneaky manner, or their tech's forgot to mention the cost and ask if it was ok. Either way, this was my experience with it. Kind of a 'come this way now, and we will do this next! Very casual, until afterwards when you get a bill for something that told me I was fine, and the insurance doesn't even cover. I've never run into an eye office that cheats you like this. The doctor was friendly, but didn't want to risk giving me the better prescription because it would have been a jump. Perfectly understandable. The problem was when I got home, I still couldn't see well! I can't wait a year for that! I have a little digital clock at home that I measure my eyes with, and when It gets to where I can't see it well from a specified distance, I do a checkup. Other optometrists I have seen have given me trials during big jumps, but this business is just that, and not personable, I assume because of it is high volume. I called back and asked if I could have a trial contact for a .5 difference, which they asked the doctor for, and they gave to me. Great! I tried that for a week, and it seemed better, but my weaker eye still needed some work! So I went back after that week and asked for another .5 increase. Here soon is where my real gripe comes in. I was given the increase, but this time, they didn't mention the doctor. After my 2nd trial, I called back saying I was very happy with these contacts, and would like them. I was informed by a tech that I was not given a 2nd trial, and they would only allow the first trials order. I was a little dumbfounded, "I'm wearing the 2nd trial right now...." I decided to drive there, hoping to get the 2nd trial prescription in person, though I could have ordered the other one on the phone. A different tech told me I was never given a 2nd trial, and if I had, where was the packages trash? "Well, I threw that away, I didn't know you wouldn't believe me and I should have kept the trash." So I was chided for not keeping trash. Yup. Great. I surely imagined driving to get my 2nd trial, wearing them for a 2nd week, and I just spent an hour of my day so that I could come here and lie to you when i could have ordered on the phone for the other prescription. SURELY. I'm going to assume someone didn't write down what was given to me, but being called a liar while I'm SIMPLY TRYING TO SEE, was quite...well dumb. After a bit, they told me a tech would do a test on me, and that was the only way to get it. I agreed. All I want to do is see correctly. They did the test, and with my stigmatism, just as last time, I saw with one power better than I did with the other. I guess the tech took my viewing difference as a sign that I had been lying, and pointed out as much. Yes, I'm sure other people have lied to you. But I'm sitting here, blind as a bat, and you are now accusing me AGAIN of lying, treating me with contempt, and dripping sarcasm and annoyance from your demeanor and voice simply BECAUSE I AM TRYING TO SEE! Let say I had been wrong. Let's say It was a placebo effect & the tech's exam was completely right! Even if that were so, they were still so completely rude to me that It was unbecoming of a medical practice. I told them that I understood people have probably lied to them, and that they didn't believe me, but I wanted that change in prescription, because you know... I COULD ACTUALLY SEE WITH IT. After that, I was told I would have Migraines, pain, and nausea because I the prescription was too much for me. I replied that it wouldn't because you know.....I'VE BEEN TESTING THE POWER YOU GAVE ME FOR A WEEK!" Oh sorry, didn't mean to yell again about you not believing that you gave me the trial. ( I didn't really yell. I was quite subdued and apologetic in my annoyance) After all of that, both of us were annoyed, so the tech gave up, and let me just have what I wanted, and guess what! They were right. Twist! I went home and had migraines, and nausea and.... oh wait. Sorry, parallel universe. Just kidding. I had no side effects because I already had that prescription just as I said and I've been seeing wonderfully ever since. Afterwards, and before hand, the desk staff were very pleasant, courteous, and helpful, and my eyes lived happily ever after. Fin. ----------- I believe the technicians I dealt with all acted this way unbeknownst the management. I would strongly advise customer service training for them. (I am a millennial, and the techs were as well, perhaps they did not have social skills or training)
