Came here for a pre-show dinner. As is common with Kerry Simon restaurants, very creative menu with well presented dishes. Enjoyed the bacon jam, veal meatballs (a bit oversalted), and star of the menu was the gyro tacos. Strong beer selection, but having options on tap is necessary as opposed to only bottled choices, particularly for a 'gastropub' type place like this. Service was very friendly (we sat at the bar). One service misstep that was a bit 'nickle and dime' (something very out of character for a Kerry Simon restaurant) is when we were approached and asked, unsolicitedly, if we want more baguette slices for our bacon jam (we said sure, as there was more bacon jam than bread). The wait staff graciously brought this too us, and an undisclosed charge for this showed up on our bill. It is a pet peeve of mine when service staff offers something nominal like this (four small baguette slices), not solicited by the customer, and charges you - if they are going to do this - they should either disclose it as an upcharge, or not offer something nominal unless it gratuitous for their customers - they need to work on this type of item - I expect a bit more out of a place of this caliber on this type of thing.
