Really disappointed with the pedicure I received yesterday. Took my friend as we were in the area and wanted to try a new nail place. Upon entering I asked if they had some examples of decorations they do. I was told to search on Pinterest and they are able to do most designs I could find. I chose my polish, choosing to take a break from gel and sat down. I found a glitter ombré example on Pinterest and showed the older gentlemen that was working on my pedi. He said that was fine. He proceeded to file my nails unevenly, which I didn't notice till later on. After my color was on, he went and got a glitter polish to do the design. After his attempt at the design looked sloppy and awful, I said it didn't look like the picture and he said that's because the design I chose was only possible using gel polishes. That would have been nice to know earlier. After he had glopped so much glitter on already he suggested just painting the whole nail with glitter. I agreed hoping he'd salvage it. He did a very spotty job on the first big toe and when he got to the second toe he tried to leave it 3 times before I had to say that he missed a spot or it didn't match the other big toe, etc. As we paid, we were overcharged (charged $30 for a $25 pedi and $40 for a $35 pedi). Upon closer inspection of my nails, I can see that my smaller nails are not evenly filed straight across and the big toes still don't matchI'm really disappointed with the pedicure I received and even though the price was moderate, the poor workmanship wasn't worth saving $5. I'm not an overly picky customer but this pedicure was worth helping about. Not sure if it's the salon, my friend isn't overly impressed or disappointed with her pedicure, or just the older gentlemen. He doesn't seem to have the attention to detail we almost always get at other nail salons.
Update: Soon after I posted this, the owner messaged me and offered to redo my pedicure with gel "only". I assumed that meant gel without decals or charms. I agreed and brought my husband along to the appointment to get him a pedicure, as well, as I was impressed with the owner's desire to correct the issue. When we arrived, I was told that I was going to only get the color redone, no nail shaping, lotion, etc. I asked why and he said that I had already received that. I stated that I didn't want to sit and wait for my husband to get the works, it seems reasonable that I would get color and the "pedicure" that was botched in the first place. He said to my face that I was "too feisty," kept looking at my husband like my husband would sympathize with HIM and insisted that it would be $20 for me to get pedicure treatment and color redone. I reminded him that the service I received originally was very poor and that I had to be inconvenienced to even come back. I'm still not sure why he would be this stubborn. How much can lotion and an extra 20 minutes of his time cost? Isn't the whole goal that he rectifies his employee's poor workmanship? He was unbudging and said that I could just leave my review up or pay for a regular pedicure. Very unfortunate for this salon that their owner has such poor customer service and would call names to a disappointed customer's face.
