I've been to this place twice. Had an amazing first time and a very-very poor second time. First time: Service and atmosphere amazing! Me and a girlfriend shared two appetizers (The large house made charcuterie platters and roasted beet salad). Both so delicious and presentation was great. The perfect balance of beets, cheese and meat. The plates and platter were spotless when she took them away. We shared a bottle of wine by her (the servers's) recommendation (who was super friendly and personable and patient). Great time, definitely would return - especially to try the rest of the menu. Second time: Atmosphere still fun and lively. Service was rude, impatient and intolerant of my cravings. Went with a gentleman friend for a drink and a sweet treat. My friend had a drink and I wanted just dessert. The server explained the "law" about not having a drink on it's own bill (and this is while we were ordering). Of course we understood and said we'll have one bill at the end of the night. She continued will insisting that I take a drink too "since it is a bar". Fine, I'll take a drink. And then she continued with explaining that we can't just take a drink and dessert, that we are "required" to also take food. Wait - What? She just said this is a "bar". I said, I will order more dessert - however she replied that that is not considered "food". Okay then - let me start with dessert and I'll order more after. She approach us two more times (before our drinks or dessert had arrived) about what else I plan to order. I repeated, let me try the dessert first and then I'll pick something else. Drink was left untouched. The dessert (some lemon-lime crunch with goop) was no good. Combination of texture did not mix well and the flavour was too mild. Server didn't check up on us- so how could I order more? I didn't finish the dessert (which is unheard of for me - I am self-proclaimed sweet-tooth). Waiting for service. No service. Grabbed the bill (from another employee) and left. Our server not in sight. What a disappointing second experience. Unfortunately, as much as I want to try the rest of the menu - I won't be returning. I regretted suggesting this place to my gentleman friend and now will avoid the place all together. I guess - enter at your own risk. Who knows what will happen.
