I stayed at the Cambridge suites for a total of seven days with a lot of that time spent in my room (yeah, I'm a party animal) . In that time I noticed the following : - The service is excellent Housekeeping is constantly making up your room, without being pushy or disrespectful. They will work around your schedule. For example, if you tell them you will be gone for an hour they will make up your room in exactly that amount of time and finish before you return. Really great stuff. Similarly, the concierge and reception staff are friendly and accommodating. They were willing to scan/fax documents on request, and hold on to my bags for a few hours while I was in the process of checking out. - The location is excellent You are minutes walk from King and Queen subway stations, and a short drive from Union station. There are a number of excellent restaurants very close as well ( Richmond station, for example). So yeah, this is about as convenient as things get in downtown Toronto. - The amenities are pretty good. There is a small, but well maintained fitness center on the penthouse floor of the building which includes a sauna and Jacuzzi. If you want a wider range of fitness equipment the reception offers complimentary passes to the "Goodlife" fitness club across the street. - the in-hotel restaurant "Portico" kind of sucks With all the great restaurants nearby, you probably won't need to dine here at all. Which is good because the food is distinctly below average. Delivered as room service, it's passable, but there are much better and less expensive options around. - The rooms are a little dated The decor is dated and the upkeep of the suites leaves something to be desired. This is especially noticeable in the bathroom where there are some worn tiles and moldy looking bits around the shower. It's not the kind of thing that can be corrected by housekeeping either, but the accumulated decay that comes from a hotel that hasn't been remodeled in decades. Nothing terrible, but the overall sense was "A tiny bit run down". That said, it was nothing that interfered with my experience or detracted from it. Just an observation so take it for what you will. Overall I absolutely loved my time here. It's an expensive hotel but you get what you pay for. Spacious rooms, excellent service, and an incredibly convenient location. 4/5
