This place was on the radar for a while as it combines the two core approaches towards food IMO i.e. Technique (french) and ingredient focus (Japanese).
The place is minimalist and has very little seating so if you are in the mood to dine in grab a seat first as you might not get it later. The display area is small but is used well. They even managed to fit in a small espresso machine somehow (La Marzocca GS3 which I thought was made for home use).
Ah well its the results that count. I had read rave review for their croissants so had to have one of those. Other choice was a Millefeuille and Kurumi (honey walnut dessert). They also had quite a few Japanese take on French desserts that looked interesting. First for the croissant folks we have a winner here. One of the best croissant in the city IMO since the old guard has been letting me down for a while.
Millefeuille was created fresh so had the right consistency (kudos for doing this as I don't know of any other place in the city that makes it on demand). I haven't had the Kurumi dessert before but the combination is just right.
My friend who is a macaron fiend was impressed enough to order some of them to go. The feedback is positive so will be back for sure to try those along with the croissant.
A solid solid place for dessert. 4 Stars.
