I wish I could go to 4 stars. But I am somewhat of a frozen custard snob. For the Champaign-Urbana area, this is definitely the best place to get frozen custard. I like the hometown feel of the place. But Jarling's loses one star for service. Every time I've been there, the lines seem to move at a snail's pace. They seem to have plenty of workers, but the wait is long nonetheless. It may be that customers don't know what they want before they get up to the register. Also, I love the idea of the cold fudge. Hot fudge is so delicious, but it has the irritating habit of melting the frozen concoction too quickly (especially a softer custard). But I would like to see Jarling's use a better quality fudge. It seemed to me that theirs is closer in taste to Hershey's chocolate syrup than to an actual thick hot fudge.
