I know many yelp reviews begin with "I wanted to love this place" and I can think of nowhere I wanted to love more than here. I lived in my previous apartment happily for 3 years but decided to move in with the boyfriend and we wanted a place that was ours and Ansley Falls was our choice.
Even before we moved in there were problems. We had several more charges than what we had understood when originally talking to the leasing office. The manager at the time, Sarah, was wonderful working to compromise with us and we chalked up all these misunderstandings to new employees in the office. She left shortly after we moved in.
The deciding factor on not only for Ansley Falls but also the apartment type was the kitchen. The two bedroom has a gorgeous and massive (for an apartment) kitchen. Being the foodies we both are we love to cook and it was important for us to have a great kitchen to do so. Here comes disappointment number 2 - our dishwasher and garbage disposal had something wrong since the day we moved in. We tried different rise aid products and detergent products but we still had to hand wash a couple dishes after every single dishwasher cycle. I believe we raised 4 tickets with the office and we had decided to live with the problem after it was never successfully fixed. Then one night we put the peel of one potato down the disposal (assuming it ran through successfully) and when we ran the dishwasher later that night the sink overflowed and started to flood the kitchen. We were told we put too much in our disposal (1 potato peel). So we lived the rest of our lease not using the disposal which was annoying but fixed the problem.
The security was completely ineffective. My sister's car got broken into and some items stolen. There were several car break ins by the time we moved out. The leasing office signed for a package worth $200 and either they signed without actually receiving it, someone stole it, or it is still in the office because when we went to pick it up they were unable to locate it. Because an office employee signed for it we were unable to get a refund or replacement. When we brought this up with area management her attitude was basically tough for you (this was after we sent emails about this issue that were not replied to). So if you move here have your packages mailed to your office if they are important.
Our AC went out in the middle of summer and it took several emails and phone calls for someone to fix it, 3 days later. At this point the office claimed someone spoke to us about it and we said it could wait. This was completely false as we would never have agreed to wait in a 90 degree apartment.
The real kicker was after we moved out and got the all clear on our move out inspection. They have decided to charge $ 1,337.41to replace our entire carpet due to invisible, odorless stains even though we have video and pictures of the carpet at move out proving it looks fine. After that experience I would caution anyone looking to move here because there is absolutely nothing you can do to protect yourself from them.
