I recently bought two Groupons, each worth $5 towards Baskin Robbins and Kernels goodies. So, I waited till I had used my second Groupon before posting a review.
Both times, I visited on a Saturday afternoon. This Baskin Robbins-Kernels combo store is located in a plaza with a bunch of stores, including a large Highland Farms.
The first time I walked in, I was greeted by a young woman. She was friendly. It was her first day on the job. I had a question about my Groupon. She couldn't answer it and said that her manager would be available shortly.
Although the manager is great at rattling off the specials that the store has, they are not applicable when you have a Groupon.
I had wanted a medium bag of cheese and caramel popcorn, but the store had run out. The manager recommended getting the straight caramel, but I wasn't interested. Instead, I went with the buttersalt.
I was disappointed about not getting my first popcorn flavour choice. However, I love buttersalt. It was yummy.
Yesterday, I went back to use my other Groupon. I was greeted by the manager who was the only person working at the store. There was a buy-two-popcorn-bags-and-get-a-free-bag deal. Again, I couldn't get it with my Groupon. I got a medium bag of buttersalt again.
I looked at the Baskin Robbins ice cream while waiting for my popcorn. The citrus twist ice caught my attention. It was dairy-free and was essentially a sorbet. I got a scoop. It was tart, a bit sweeter than I typically like, but yummy nonetheless.
I wouldn't mind coming back to give one of the promotions a try without a Groupon.
