I have Naka sushi on my bookmark forever. I have been on sushi craving all week. I guess having Yummy sushi opened up my appetite on sushi even more. Therefore, I decided to come and check out this place since it's closed by work.
We got there around 6:15 on a Friday night and it was pretty empty but by the time we left, it was a full house. The restaurant is not that big. They have around 10 tables or so.
For the appetizer, we tried karage, salmon skin salad, fresh oysters( today's special), and vegetable croquettes( today's special). Only vegetable croquettes was notable. However, I don't really taste the veggie besides potato.
I'm a nigiri lover so I usually start my sushi orders there. We tried the following nigiris: salmon, yellowtail, red snapper, spicy tuna, scallop, sweet shrimp, sea urchin, wasabi tobiko, tamago negi toro and eel. Scallop nigiri was on their special of the day and it was pretty fresh. Salmon was decent and buttery. Uni was not bad for ayce. Tamago was looking a little dark but it tasted decent. Negi toro was pretty good. Spicy tuna and red snapper was fishy and mushy. Not a fan of wasabi tobiko either. It was bit fishy as well and it wasn't covered up by the wasabi. The only roll we tried was eel and avocado roll since we were too full. It was not bad. We all had tempura green tea ice cream for dessert . It was yummy.
Service was decent and attentive. I was amazed that that have 3 or 4 waitress for that small restaurant. With their cheaper ayce price for dinner ($21.95), it's not a bad place to come if you are hungry and in the area.I give this place 3.5 star.
