We were here on one of the hottest weekends of the year. As we drove into Vegas it was 109 degrees. I was SO pleased when I saw that all the parking was undercover. Not only was there a multi-story car park but the outside parking was under the freeway, so although always full, people came and went often so your car is always in the shade. I loved the foyer of the hotel - the smokey smell notwithstanding - and was really looking forward to our stay. Then I stood in line for around 45 minutes to check in... NOT COOL! Unless you only have half a dozen rooms, when it's 4:00pm and people are checking in right on time YOU NEED MORE THAN ONE PERSON ON RECEPTION!! The only other irk was that there was no coffee maker in the room. We booked a deluxe room and were on a higher floor. The room was ample big enough for 3 adults but the bathroom definitely shows it's age. The separate sink area is very 70's. There is no free internet and we couldn't get a great cell signal either. But the price of the room was right so I took my wifi hotspot so we could still all be online. We ate dinner elsewhere and breakfast at the Cal (just ok), but we wanted to use our $10 food credit. On check out the computers were down and with still only one person at reception, all the woman could do was take our name and room number and promise to get our billing correct once the computers came back up. Boyd - you need to up your game (pardon the pun).
