This review is about the service department. This review will show you the scam tactics Moore Jeep used to try and con my wife into putting out hundreds of dollars on unneeded items for her 2015 Jeep with 27K miles on it. Originally we purchased our Jeep at this location and when we did they had a deal of 'lifetime tires if you get your oil changes here' so my wife always took the Jeep here when it needed an oil change. This is why she was at the shop a few days ago and this is where my review begins. My wife made an appointment to have the oil changed so we showed up at that time and handed the keys to the service rep and I drove her back to work. Later, she picked up the Jeep and came home very frustrated and looked worried. She continued to tell me that when she picked up the Jeep they told her she needed all sorts of stuff done and she didn't know how we were going to pay for it all. After she calmed down she showed me the paper they handed her and I immediately got concerned. Now, my wife isn't really a car person so when someone says she needs something she usually listens to them however I am pretty much a car guy and can tell when things look fishy and let me tell you, this was one large smelly fish! The sheet said that she needed the following: - Tire rotation: $45 on top of the $40 we paid for the oil change - Spark Plugs: $300 (The jeep had 27K on it ) - A/C service: $120 (On a 1.5 year old Jeep under warranty?) - Evap service: $110 (Again, on a 1.5 year old Jeep under warranty?) - Brake Inspection: $70 ($70 to inspect the brakes?) - Differential Service: $270 (Not sure this is needed until 60K but I need to look into that. I am sure it's not at 27K though) - Air Filter: $30 (This is a good one. I recently replaced the air filter however I gave them the benefit of a doubt and opened the hood to go look at it. They never even opened the filter box. It still had dust and mud on it. Again, giving them the benefit of the doubt I pulled the filter out and it was white with a little dust. Nowhere near time to replace it) - Alignment: $90 (Not sure about this, I would need to drive it to make sure) - Fuel System Flush: $35 (Really?) Again, this is on a Jeep with 27K miles and a warranty. So I called the rep up and let him know that I was concerned, I even went as far as to tell him I felt like he was trying to scam my wife and he assured me he was not. So I expressed my concerns with him and here were his answers to me over the phone: - Tire Rotation - "We do not include those in our oil changes, that is an extra service and fee" - Spark Plugs - "Oh, Im sorry that's wrong. You have the platinum plugs and don't need them changed out" - A/C Service - "That is just a recommendation, I am not sure if she really needs it but we put that down because it is recommended" - Evap Service - " Same thing, she doesn't need it however we recommend it be serviced" - Brake Inspection - "Yes, it's $70 for the brake inspection but we clean them up too!" - Air Filter - "The manufacturer recommends you change your air filter and the tech said it needed to be done". Total scam here... - Alignment - I didn't bring up - Fuel System - "she doesn't really need this right now, it's just recommended" So, in the end everything was a 'recommendation' and not actually needed however they made my wife feel like this stuff was needed right away. And to recommend plugs and filter knowing they are not due, what else did they make up and for who? How many times has that unsuspecting senior or student gone to them for a simple service just to find out that $30 oil change is now $700 in (recommended but not stated) repairs? I will NEVER go back to this dealer, free tires or not. The fact they could lie right to my wife's face and then try to justify it to me on the phone just infuriates me. I "recommend" you find another dealer to get your work done at or better yet, how about that home town mechanics shop with that business owner who actually cares about their customers and giving them a fair and honest rate? I have the sheet they wrote out to prove everything I stated above. I will try to attach it if I can. You have been warned!
