I went to see Believe during the recent Thanksgiving weekend. I did not really know what it was about, nor did I know that it was a Criss Angel show up until I picked up the tickets. I knew it was a Cirque de Soleil show, so I had the assumption that it was going to be similar to the other shows that I've watched.
It wasn't.
Criss Angel is very personal with the crowd, or the show is written to seem like it. The premise of the show is to make the audience 'believe' that anything can happen, and what you see isn't exactly what you always get. The actual story line
The costumes were amazing, but a little dark and sometimes morbid-like. The tricks that Criss Angel performs are mind boggling. You can understand the mechanics, but they are pulled off extremely well. A lot of disappearing acts that will have you questioning how they pulled it off. The Cirque dancers are good, staying true to the Cirque de Soleil name, but there wasn't enough time to see the true acrobatic abilities that these dancers have.
I know, it's a magic show based on Criss Angel, but I was just expecting more. I can imagine it's hard to incorporate all of that. Criss Angel has a certain type of personality and it shows through out the show.
Parents, the show is geared towards a more mature audience, so be careful if you have kids lets say junior high and below.
