Purchased a package through Orbitz for compact car and hotel. When I got to the rental desk, the clerk recommended a Corolla for me and then presented me with a bill for an additional $250. When I asked what it was for (I already paid for my rental through Orbitz), she told me it was because I upgraded the car. I told her that I hadn't, and she said yes, the Corolla was an upgrade. She didn't tell me that when she "recommended" it to me. She got very snotty when I told her that I didn't want the upgrade and that I would take what I had paid for. I think she was hoping that I was an inexperienced traveller and that I wouldn't question the additional charge. Beware when renting a car through a package deal that they don't try to sneak in extra charges by "upgrading" you. Also, when I declined the insurance she got snotty again and didn't speak to me for the rest of the transaction. Clearly she works on commission and was mad that she didn't make any money on me! I've had this happen with lesser known rental agencies in the past and am disappointed it happened with what I thought was a reputable company like Hertz. Sigh...
